Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it - Proverbs 22:6

Youth Programs

Youth Group

Another school year is off and running, and our Junior/Senior High Youth Group is also in full swing. During youth group this fall, we are going through the Beatitudes from Matthew 5 and learning about what it means to be truly blessed. So far, we've learned about blessings in all kinds of circumstances: when our spirits are poor, when we mourn, when our pride gets in the way, when what is right isn't the popular thing to do, and when we have to forgive others. We will be continuing with the Beatitudes through Thanksgiving, and in December, we'll be taking a journey through the perspectives of the characters in the story of Jesus' birth. Anyone in grades 7-12 is welcome to join us every Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:30pm in the Youth Room.

Blend

We've also continued to be involved with “Blend.” For those of you who don't know, Blend combines 3-5 youth groups from the Pittsburgh area to do some great activities with a larger group and for the youth to meet other kids their ages in the area. In October, we attended Harvest Day with the other Blend participants at Crestfield Camp and Conference Center. Despite the chilly and wet weather, we still had a great time canoeing, making s'mores, climbing the wall, and getting our faces painted. In November, we will be heading over to the World Vision center in Sewickley with the other Blend churches. At World Vision, we will be packing boxes of clothes for less fortunate people around the world. In December, we will be going to the Central Pittsburgh Food Bank to help them reorganize their shelves for the Christmas season. Please pray for us as we serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, by serving others.
